The values of the church are of first importance. More important than our vision or our mission statement. They show us the kind of church we are to be as we seek to meet our vision and mission statement.
They consist of five fundamental values that need to shape everything we do as a church.
1. We Are to Be Family and Community

Being family and community is at the heart of who we are as a church. Whether we are 100 people or 10,000, relationships—not strategies—define us. We want everyone to feel welcome and able to connect, regardless of background, faith journey, or personal struggles.
Just as Jesus gathered a community around Himself, we aim to support, encourage and walk with one another in discipleship. Our desire is that every person can find a place to belong and grow both individually and as a church community.
2. We Are to Be Wholehearted in Our Worship
We believe we are called into a vibrant, living relationship with Jesus, and so we place Him at the centre of our worship. Wholehearted worship brings us into the presence of God, and in his presence we find God often begins to work in and through us.
Worship can be sung, spoken, silent, or reflective—but we have found that singing together especially opens hearts to God’s work, just as it did in the New Testament. Worship shapes both our gatherings and our personal devotional lives.

3. The Bible Is Central

Everything we believe and everything we do passes through the filter of God’s Word. The Bible—Old and New Testaments—reveals the truth of God’s character, power, and nature. It also instructs us as to how we live our lives, lead our families, serve our community, and interact with the world.
Our aim is to understand and apply Scripture daily, allowing it to shape every aspect of life and church.
4. We Are to Be Relevant in Our Outreach
In a fast-changing world, it is essential that our outreach speaks clearly and meaningfully to people today. While it is always wonderful to welcome Christians, we also want to communicate our faith in ways that make sense to those exploring or questioning faith.
This means listening well, using accessible language, avoiding unhelpful or loaded terms, and inviting people on a journey rather than pushing for quick decisions. Jesus called ordinary people to follow Him long before they declared faith—we aim to walk with people in the same way.
Throughout our outreach, we seek to be inclusive, gentle, kind, patient, and always faithful to the hope of the Gospel.

5. We Are to Be Led by the Spirit of God

Our faith is not just a philosophy or a moral code. We believe we are called to partner with God Himself and to minister with more than just our natural gifts. This requires listening to the Holy Spirit and depending on His strength.
When the world sees God working through ordinary people, lives change. We long to see His Spirit empowering us with the authority and compassion needed to help others, bring healing, and set people free.
Every Christian has the Spirit of God, and the more we walk with Him, the more we desire Him. As we grow in step with the Spirit, we believe His gifts will be released among us in greater ways.
As with all churches, we are not perfect. But by living out these values, we hope to shine a brighter light in our community and beyond.
